Did you know a group of herons is called a “siege?” Me neither. No idea who comes up with this stuff. But on Wednesday last week we definitely had a siege at Falls of the Ohio State Park. I counted 89 great blue herons like this one, 28 black-crowned night herons, and a whopping 171 great egrets. That’s 288 herons in one spot!
